The Sounds of Music
Age 3-5
These unique classes give very young children the opportunity to play real instruments in child-sized proportions, such as 1/8 size violins, miniature accordions and guitars, recorders, bongo and conga drums, and other percussion instruments.
Unlike many early music classes, during which the teacher entertains the children by singing or playing a guitar, the Sounds of Music program offers an interactive, hands-on experience that exposes students to the sounds of orchestral and band instruments. All instructors are trained classical musicians who specialize in working with children in this age group.
As students progress through the program, groundwork is laid for private lessons in various instruments, depending upon a student’s natural inclination. Studies have shown that early exposure to hands-on musical experience fosters spatial and analytical thinking in math, science, and architecture.
Tuition $522 per semester (17 Sessions)
Trial lessons are available for $30. Payment for trial lessons must be received in advance.
