Peter Reit, French Horn, received a Bachelor of Music from Manhattan School of Music. He has performed as a guest artist with the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Ensemble, St. Luke's Chamber Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Opera, New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater.
He is Principal Horn with the Greenwich Symphony, Westchester Philharmonic, and the Scandia Symphony, and Associate Principal Horn with the Stamford Symphony. He is currently the horn player for the Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera.
He is on the faculty of The Hart School Music Conservatory of Westchester, and is Director of the Westchester Youth Brass Ensemble, as well as visiting teacher and artist lecturer/performer with the Westchester Philharmonic. He teaches horn at Somers Intermediate School, and coaches the Honors Chamber groups at Fairfield High School.
He has extensive chamber music and solo performance experience in Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, Solo with Orchestra as well as commercial performances on radio, television, documentary and feature films.
Mr. Reit has recordings on Deutsche Grammophon, Musical Heritage, Centaur, Blue Note, and Sunnyside .
