Chi-Jen (Christopher) Chung received his certification in music education from the National Taiwan Normal University. He received a Bachelors of Music and a Masters of Music from SUNY, Purchase College, where he studied under master cellist, Peter Wiley, of the Guarneri Quartet.

He was a recipient of the Bridget and Peter Flanigan Scholarship, has recorded for Bamboo Trail Records, and has won first prize at the National Taiwan Music Competition and the Kaohsiung City Music Competition. In addition, he has wide professional experience including conducting symphonic orchestras, chamber performances and studio recordings which include the Chinese Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the International Chamber Orchestra, Yin-Qi Cha mber orchestra among others.

He has held teaching positions at Guang-Ren High School, Xi-Men Elementary School and Guan-Du Christian College in Taiwan. In 2003, Chris served as Music Director and featured cellist for the world premier of A Streetcar Named Desire at the Hua-Sun Cultural Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
