Igor Sherbakov

Igor Sherbakov holds a Master’s of Music degree from the prestigious Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. He has taught piano, keyboard and french horn privately to children and adults in New York for 28 years. His friendliness, patience and detail oriented approach make him a favorite of students, who learn to play by sight and by ear. His musical teaching include styles varying from classical to gospel to contemporary . In addition to his teaching, he has played piano and organ in many churches in the Bronx, including Fort Schuyler Presbyterian, Eastchester Presbyterian, First Presbyterian Fourth Presbyterian and Presbyterian of Williamsbridge.

As a teenager, he played and sang in rock and jazz bands which he feels helps him in teaching children interested in popular music. He also enjoys performing at senior centers, including King’s Harbor, Atria, JASA. and at Hebrew Home, Sunrise.
